The solution enables outdoor group lighting control through the cities᾽ dedicated outdoor lighting power grid. By installing/replacing control hardware in cabinets in combination with the lighting management system (LMS), the connected outdoor light points become controllable by switching the already present contactors. The installed hardware shall include a central processing unit (CPU) which connects to the LMS using cellular technology, surge protection for the connected modules, switch modules to control light points via the contactor, components to measure current measurements and a battery option to enable the CPU to store data and to send a mains power failure alarm to the LMS before it shuts down.
